2019 Cake Calendar

For this project, I created a 2019 calendar featuring a different cake depicting each month of the year. For this piece, I was inspired by the cake paintings of Wayne Thiebaud and Martha Rich. I stuck with pastel colors, giving the calendar a soft playful feeling. I wanted the cakes to look almost like cutouts, and I wanted them to have an imperfect quality to them, like homemade cakes often do. I also made sure to include a lot of variety among the cakes to add visual interest, while still keeping them similar stylistically.
